After a long drive and a good nap, we finally arrived at Taipei 101, tallest building in the world at that time…

The view up there is really nice, and getting up there is really fast…(less than 60 seconds to 89th floor I think)…

Grabbed some souviners from the shop there…

After a quick tour at Taipei 101, we are supposed to leave for dinner. Street view from Taipei 101 entrance.

Then we were treated to a yummy, delicious – HOTPOT Dinner here…

It was really a yummy dinner and very very filling as we were treated to an endless flow of food! Very spicy as well..muahahah..

After such a long day of travelling then we finally arrived at our hotel for that night after dinner.

Nice and spacious bedroom. Beitou is a Hot Spring area as well, hence, we have a hot spring bathroom built in as well. Nice to enjoy the hotspring before going to bed…

This is were we had lunch. It is very near Yilan and I suppose it’s on the way back to Taipei.

There were lots of dishes, good food, local dishes… It was really great, however, the pics not very nice – so didn’t post!

Yup, that’s the summary of the lunch that day. After lunch we then head back to Taipei, a 1 and 1/2 hour long drive back – which I took to nap…

2nd day at Taiwan, woke up at about 9 as we are supposed to leave about 11 back to Taipei. We stopped at the National Center for Traditional Arts before continuing our journey.

Took a group photo before we went in.

There were a lot of interesting buildings in the center. Very unfortunately, I don’t know what most of the buildings are for…

As well as snacks…

We walked around for awhile and went for lunch at a hill top restaurant… More on that — next post…

Few months back, in January, I was fortunate enough to visit Taiwan because Malaysia won a regional competition for Windows Phone. I am not the winner, but I just get to tag along, because Malaysia won! :)

We reached Taiwan in the afternoon, and took a long drive to Yilan – which is a Hot Spring area. We checked into Hotel Royal Chiao Hsi and it was free & easy for the rest of the evening. The weather in Taiwan is only around 12 degrees at that time.

The room is nice and comfy, and it has a welcome card as well…

The area is famous with hot springs, the best thing - you can even enjoy hot spring in the comfort of your bathroom :)

Had some time before dinner, so I walked around the hotel – the swimming pool…

Just a short walk from the pool is the public hot spring.

I then went for a buffet dinner with others. And right after dinner, we were treated with an opera show in the lobby…

Was tired after that, went back to my room, enjoyed the hot spring, showered and slept…

Just came back from Phuket :) FUN!

And here’s a few more pictures on Lone & Betty’s wedding…

Lone is really a talented musician, hence he was given keywords to write a song for Betty. And he’s cracking his head trying to put those words together – into a song…

It was probably a piece of cake for him and in just 20 mins, he was ready to perform.

And his buddies were always there for him…

But even after singing his heart out, it weren’t enough as he had to go through tough rounds of negotiation of ang paus…

Before he could step foot in her chamber and be united with her :)

The tea ceremony…

And the lovely gift wraps, with Lone & Betty’s pictures all over it.

A final picture of Lone & Betty…

This part 2 post took some time to be up, due me slacking and really quite a lot of stuff catching up on me lately. Also, I just manage to backup all my pictures, a bit paranoid after the first hardisk failed :S

Anyhow, back to the wedding day of Lone & Betty, lots of pictures coming up :) Enjoy! So we will continue where we left off. We arrived at Betty’s house and the boys were greeted by huge lollipop – which they are supposed to consume before they can step into the house.

They are supposed to share, according to the girls, and so they shared…

And Lone got into the action as well.

The reward for finishing the candy is of course some drinks. I’m not sure what those drinks are though…

And those weren’t the only drinks they had to finish, they had more…

Alright, that’s all for today :) Will continue the story of Lone & Betty, keep tuning in here…

Lone & Betty

15Apr10

Just before Chinese New Year this year, Aaron was kind enough to ask me along to one of his wedding shoots. It was always nice to be at a wedding, be it shooting or it’s your friend(s) getting hitched, it’s just a wonderful occasion to be at. It’s when everyone coming together to share the joy of 2 individuals that are so in love with each other and they want to spend the rest of their lives together. This time, I witnessed Lone & Betty’s wedding, and that morning on the 31st Jan, I met Lone for the first time at his home…

I do believe Lone loves Betty very much and he proved it by recording this video before he left the house, declaring his never-ending love…

Then outside the house, you see his friends busy preparing to pick Betty up. It’s not an easy feat to perform and they still manage to pull off some nice poses for the camera…

The guys recorded a video as well just before they set out…

And so, Lone sets out to get his bride…

There were 8 of us that night…

And the food, yummy ~

After we were done with the food, then came the cake for Lorraine…

And we tried to take some group pictures

Of course, I took one with the birthday girl as well :)

and lastly, the birthday girl with her birthday gifts…
